about

Moon Boots’ acclaimed LP ‘Bimini Road’ saw the Brooklyn-based artist on top form. A showcase of his soulful house flair, the album won praise from Mixmag and Billboard, and was named in KCRW’s ‘Top 10 Albums of 2019’. After a string of highly praised LP remix singles from Boris Brecja, Kenny Dope, Wookie, Alex Metric, Mat Zo among others, winning support from BBC Radio 1’s Danny Howard and Phil Taggart, The Black Madonna and Diplo, Moon Boots now delivers the full remix album adding a host of new reworks to the mix.

The first of the new remixes comes from Stockholm-based producer DJ Clea who turns in a driving house rework of vocal cut ‘So Precious’. For the past decade Clea has steadily built her reputation as one of Stockholm’s finest DJs and producers, playing at the foremost underground venues with releases on Ghostly International and DJ Haus’ Unknown To The Unknown imprint.

‘Jumpin’ gets a jazz-influenced rework courtesy of LA’s Oceans1985 a.k.a. Tyler Blake. With a career spanning over 10 years under his Classixx alias with Michael David, releasing on Future Classic and Kitsune, Tyler now turns his attention to his solo project after launching earlier this summer with remixes for LA rising talent Don and popular American songstress Janelle Kroll.

Detroit born and raised, DJ and producer DJ Holographic has been making waves around her city in recent years working with local legends Underground Resistance, Carl Craig and Moodymann. Best known for serving up a mix of consuming house beats, R&B and unreserved nu-disco, her rework certainly does not disappoint.

A stand-out track from the LP, Moon Boots' collaboration with seasoned UK talent Little Boots ‘You Won’t See Me Cry’ now gets a hallmark disco-funk twist courtesy of Bristol born multi-instrumentalist Crackazat a.k.a Ben Jacobs. A familiar face on Omena, Local Talk, Freerange and Futureboogie labels, Ben has been championed by the likes of Purple Disco Machine, The Black Madonna, Darius, Tensnake and The Magician, all the while building up an enviable back catalogue over the past 8 years with remixes for Joey Negro, Moulinex and Tom Misch.

‘Trance & Dental’ gets a piano-led rework by Bristol-based Dark Arts Club. Having gained support from Jamie Jones, Danny Howard and Eats Everything, Dark Arts Club brings a melodic rework to the album.

Fresh off the back of his recent ‘Harlem Groove’ EP on legendary New York label Nurvous Records, French DJ and producer Alistair Lane lands on the label with a high energy jazzy-house take on instrumental title-track ‘Bimini Road’; drawing on influences from house aficionado’s Detroit Swindle, Kerri Chandler and Joey Negro.

Finally ‘Lost City’ sees an deep atmospheric rework from rising Russian-born, German-based DJ and producer Soela. With releases on leading imprints Kompakt, Shall Not Fade and Detroit Underground, Soela joins the label after a landmark year having recently released her debut album ‘Genuine Silk’ via German imprint Dial Records.
